The City of Edinburgh has its own bus services operated by Lothian Transport buses. Getting about Edinburgh by bus is deinitely the best way to see the city and to avoid issues with car parking. Within the city there are also Edinburgh tour operators providing guided short tours around different parts of Edinurgh.
If you are are looking for coach travel and bus services to Edinburgh you can try CityLink for national bus services and StageCoach for long-distance bus travel to and from Edinburgh.
There is an excellent iPhone App for bus travel in Scotland which we highly recommend. Visit the AppStore and search for Traveline Scotland - the App is free and provided you have your GPS switched on, the App will show you all the bus stops for your location and tell you when the next bus comes along ! During your stay in the Edinburgh area, you can also use the many taxi and private tour services available. There are airport transfer, pick-up or drop-off taxis, and those who will meet you at the airport or train station and take you to your favourite golf course - and give you a tour on the way !
